Chicago P.D. 3×17 (NBC) Directed by Jann Turner

While out on a bank run for his off-duty security job at the dispensary, Halstead and his co-workers find themselves under attack by a violent robbery crew which quickly becomes a full-scale shootout.

Having directed 8 episodes of Chicago Fire, Chicago Med & Chicago P.D., Jann Turner is now an fixture of the franchise produced by Dick Wolf’s company.

Born in France, raised in South Africa and the UK, she started her career in 1995 by working as a sound editor on the documentary series National Geographic Explorer and directing Need To Know, the opening film in Channel 4’s Frontline program.
Coming back to South Africa in 1996, she produced and presented the weekly current affairs show Truth Commission Special Report on SABC TV, and started directing dramas series, from Isidingo to the cop show Zero Tolerance.
In 2005, she created, wrote and directed two widely-acclaimed shows: Mzanzi (Audience Choice Award for Best TV Program) & Hard Copy, winner of the SAFTA Award for Best TV Drama.
A few years after her short My Friend Soweto starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, she wrote and directed her first feature White Wedding in 2009, South Africa’s official submission for the 82nd Academy Awards.

Since her American TV debut with The Big C in 2012, she has directed more than 20 episodes of the Chicago franchise, Castle, Teen Wolf, and was in charge of the much-buzzed 27th chapter of Jane The Virgin starring Britney Spears.
Currently working on an episode of ShondaLand’s upcoming series The Catch, she is also is in pre-production for her new South African film A King’s Heart.

Her new Chicago P.D. episode “Forty-Caliber Bread Crumb” -shot in early February- sees the return of Charisma Carpenter & Brian Tee in the series, while stunt double Benjamin Hoffman gets his first TV acting credit.
