Vancouver International Women in Film Festival

March 8, 2016 - March 13, 2016

Now in its 11th year, the annual Vancouver International Women in Film Festival (#VIWIFF2016) showcases an impressive lineup of short, mid-length and feature films (narrative, documentary, experimental and animation) by established and emerging women filmmakers from around the world.

The 2016 film festival will open on Tuesday March 8th, International Women’s Day and will end with an awards gala on Sunday, March 13th.

This six-day celebration is organized by Women in Film and Television Vancouver, a not-for-profit society founded in 1989 to advocate for, celebrate and promote women working in screen-based media.

The festival accepts films with women in at least three of these key creative roles: Writer, Producer, Director, Cinematographer, Editor, Composer, Lead Performer. Films completed after March 2013 are eligible.
